Montrose School Soccer Co-Captain Named League MVP, Boston Globe All-Scholastic Athlete

Montrose School senior, Catherine Conroy '16 of Norton has been named MVP of the Independent Girls Conference

Montrose School, an independent college preparatory day school with a Catholic tradition for girls in grades 6-12, is pleased to announce that Catherine Conroy ’16, of Norton has been named the Independent Girls’ Conference’s Most Valuable Player for the 2015 soccer season. Additionally, Catherine has been named a Boston Globe All-Scholastic Athlete for 2015.

Catherine is a senior co-Captain of the Montrose Mavericks Varsity Soccer team, which was undefeated in the league this season. Catherine helped lead her team to the IGC League Championship in a November 4 victory over Brimmer and May School on their home field in Medfield.

Coach Karen Stamatokos says of Catherine, “Many of our goals can be traced to plays that started with Catherine in the midfield. Her range on the field is incredible but always appropriate and she allows her teammates to make runs and enhances their play. She is the most unselfish player I have coached in the last 20 years.”
