“Music Sunday” at First Parish Church

This Sunday, May 5th, starting at 10 am, will be the annual and popular Music Sunday at First
Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 26 North Street, Medfield. Featured performers will be Music Director Eva Kendrick and singers John and Becca Kornet, along with other members of the
church.

The church, which from 1651 to 1872 also served as the town’s meeting house, has a long musical history. As a teenager, Medfield native Lowell Mason (1792-1872) served as music director at the church.

Mason had an illustrious career as a musician and a music educator (founder of the Boston
Academy of Music, the model for public school music education in the U.S.).

The First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church serves residents of Medfield, Millis, Medway, Walpole,Norfolk, and surrounding towns. Childcare is available, and there is an active religious education program for children 5-14.
