Nineteenth Week - Thursday's "Medfield Historical Minute"
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

A Medfield Historical Minute...
This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.
"Thanksgiving 1953 was one that will never be forgotten in the annals of Medfield High School sports history. The Medfield football team defeated Westwood High 7-6. After the game was over, the Medfield fans marched around Westwood for 40 minutes then tore down their goal post, with fans and players bringing home pieces of the prized souvenir. The football team was led back into Medfield by the fire department with over 100 cars parading behind the team. A victory dance and a bonfire were held that night. The game itself saw the largest crowd to date ever to watch a Medfield High School football game."
