No Peak House Pantry Sale in 2019; Will Resume in 2020

For the first time in 50 years, there won’t be a Peak House Pantry Sale this year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Under the management of the Peak House Heritage Center (PHHC), there have been some significant improvements and changes at the historical society’s iconic 1711 Peak House. This past summer it received a new shingle roof, had historically appropriate gardens planted again, and offered new programs. More are in the planning stages.

The PHHC also put in a new front lawn, which was seeded last month. The new lawn would be ruined if a lot of people walked on it now.So the white elephant sale would have to be run on the Clark Tavern lawn, assuming the owner would grant permission. And the Peak House lawn
would have to be fenced off as best we could, in hope most people would stay on the walkway.

Peak House Pantry Sale will resume in 2020.

The society is actively seeking new members and volunteers.
