Red Sox History and Stories at The Center

The Center at Medfield will be hosting Boston Red Sox Dick Flavin and Manny Delcarmen on Monday, January 13 at 2:00 p.m. for an afternoon of Red Sox Poetry, Stories and a Question and Answer session.

DICK FLAVIN is the poet laureate and senior ambassador of the Boston Red Sox and voice of Fenway Park, serving as an alternate public address announcer for Red Sox day games. His television commentaries won seven New England Emmy Awards, he is a nationally known speaker, and is a member of the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He is the New York Times bestselling author of Red Sox Rhymes: Verses and Curses, a collection of sixty-four humorous and nostalgic poems celebrating the Boston Red Sox. He lives in Quincy, Massachusetts.

MANUEL DELCARMAN is a former Boston Red Sox player pitching for the team from 2005 - 2008. Manny was an integral member of Boston's 2007 World Series championship team. Drafted by the Red Sox in 2000, Manny was the first player born in the Boston area to play for the Red Sox in over 40 years. Manny was born in Hyde Park and graduated from West Roxbury High School.
