Second Week - Tuesday's "Medfield Historical Minute"
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

A Medfield Historical Minute...
This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.
A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.
"In 1921 the Medfield school budget saw increases in teacher salaries, transportation expense and salaries for the new positions of school nurse and school physician. Over-crowded conditions existed at the Ralph Wheelock School on Pleasant Street, especially in grades one and two. The closing, in 1920, of the Lowell Mason School for students in the northern part of Medfield (intersection of School and North Streets) added to the problem, as those students were now transported to the Wheelock School. An epidemic of scarlet fever closed all Medfield schools for the month of March and fifteen students graduated from the Medfield High School Class of 1921."
