Seventeenth Week - Thursday's "Medfield Historical Minute"
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

A Medfield Historical Minute...
This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.
"In 1811, Medfield’s Joseph Allen graduated from Harvard with high honors. The occasion was a town-wide celebration. A party of 25 relatives and friends drove from Medfield to Cambridge in their carriages, leaving Medfield at 4:00 AM and returning back to Medfield at midnight. Allen’s graduation clothing was made in his father’s house; black coat and small-clothes, with black silk stockings tied with ribbon at the knee, and a ruffled shirt. His shoes were made by the town shoemaker."
