Our presenter, Steve Farrar, grew up in Medfield and experienced his first National Parks as an impressionable 14-year-old on the way to the 1969 National Boy Scout Jamboree in Idaho. His 5-day bus trip fromSalt Lake City included stops in Grand Teton NP, Yellowstone NP, and
Glacier NP which sparked a fascination with natural beauty that has evolved into Steve’s life-long passion for visiting our National Parks. His adventures exploring 58 of the 61 parks include hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, scuba diving the coral reefs of the Virgin Islands, camping among the wolves on Isle Royale, scaling rock faces in Yosemite, and climbing to the summits of Mount Rainier and Denali.

We will arm chair travel on Wednesday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. to the National Parks of the Colorado Plateau.
This area is roughly centered on the Four Corners region of the Southwestern US. The Colorado Plateau is mainly composed of high desert lands that are home to ten National Parks. Our presenter will recount stories of his travels in the area as he takes us on a tour of “Red Rock
Country” that includes a wide variety of amazing natural images: from fantastic rock formations to the iconic Saguaro cactus, from expansive canyon vistas to soaring arches and tight slot canyons.
