The following found on the Lions website:
The Medfield Club is a large club with some 70 members. Lions have a reputation as the "Doers" in their community. The Lions motto, "We Serve", is exemplified in the many tangible ways. Lions help to make the world a better place, both at home and abroad. Our resources are directed to the needs of our community, prevention and cure of eye disease and diabetes awareness. Some of the Medfield programs we support
with funds and our time include: Medfield Home Committee, Medfield Food Cupboard, Medfield Public Library, Boy Scouts, scholarships for high school graduates, Medfield Animal Shelter, Christmas party for
Seniors, and the Lions Speech and Peace Poster contests for students.
Also, outside of the Medfield community, we support the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund, Lazarus Fund - Organ Donation, Canines for Combat Veterans/NEADS, collection of eyeglasses for reuse
and the Lions Clubs International Foundation. Funds are raised through Christmas tree sales, Medfield toll booth, Medfield Day hamburger stand and raffles.
No doubt you have seen us in our gold vests. Lions are people who have decided to give something back to their community. People who believe that by working together they will accomplish far more than would be possible as individuals. People working toward a common goal who know they can make a difference. The Lions reward is in their accomplishments and the enjoyment received in the process. Lionism is not all work. Our meetings and social events bring members and guests together in a relaxed environment for conversation and fun.
New members are always welcome in the Medfield Lions Club. Membership is open to men and women who live or work in Medfield. The Medfield Lions meet the first Wednesday of the month, between
September and June. Our meetings are held at the American Legion, Beckwith Post 110, Peter Kristof Way, Medfield, starting at 7:00 PM.
