A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1982, after nine months of planning and development, Corning Medical and Scientific officially opened its new international headquarters for research and development on June 2, 1982 in the historic old hat factory building on North Street (now site of Montrose School). Corning located here in Medfield because of the close proximity of institutes of higher learning, major health centers and research facilities. The Town of Medfield said it was very proud to have Corning Glass Works as one of its residents. Not only do they employ many of our residents but like the rest of us they pay taxes to the town."
