A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.

A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1896 Julia Ward Howe was the main speaker in ceremonies by the Hannah Adams Woman’s Club, honoring Medfield’s famed author and feminist, Hannah Adams. Howe, best known for writing “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” was also a great advocate for abolitionism and women’s suffrage. Howe told stories during the ceremonies obtained from her grandmother, who was a friend of Hannah Adams."
