A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1920 Medfield State Hospital attendants, Leo Hays and Wesley Mapleford, were found guilty and each fined $25 in Dedham Court for assault and battery of Joseph Campbell, a resident at the hospital and WWI veteran. The court found that Campbell was beaten by the two attendants on Christmas Day. Campbell was treated for severe facial injuries. Judge Plympton made his findings after personally interviewing Campbell and several witnesses at the state hospital."
