A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1921, a Curtiss biplane crashed while doing air stunts as part of the annual American Legion’s Field Day activities. The plane struck a tree on Spring Street after knocking the chimney off the home of Harold Ward. On of the flyers was pinned beneath the plane for some time before being rescued by bystanders. He was in an unconscious state and suffered from the effects of gasoline running down his throat while pinned under the plane."
