A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1890 the Dedham Transcript reported that local Medfield sportsmen were having their usual luck. An eagle was shot on the shore of Curtis Pond (former Mill Pond area behind West Mill and Harding Streets) Its wings measured almost six feet from tip to tip. Warren Adams and Melvin Plimpton killed a dozen fox apiece. T. Fred Barney averaged five partridges, woodcock or quail a day, while Will and Walter Crawford go raccoon hunting evenings and one evening captured one weighing 48 pounds."
