Twentieth Week - Friday's "Medfield Historical Minute"
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

A Medfield Historical Minute...
This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.
"During the fall of 1926 an epidemic of scarlet fever broke out in town and as a precaution against the further spread of the disease, all schools were closed for one week with students urged to stay at home. “This seemed to be a smart move of defense because the spread of the infection stopped in Medfield. It is undoubtedly true that students placed in crowded schoolrooms are a factor in the rapid spread of disease.”
