Twentieth Week - Saturday's "Medfield Historical Minute"
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

A Medfield Historical Minute...
This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.
"The Second Annual Great Medfield Canoe Race sponsored by the Medfield Youth Hockey Program took place in May of 1977. Class A featured two male adults, Class B was one youth and one adult and Class C were two females. The race started on the Charles River where the Charles crosses Rt. 27 near the Medfield-Sherborn town line. Registration of $8 per team took place at Dave’s Sports Shop on Main Street. In addition to the first three canoes in each class being declared winners, all canoe teams were eligible for random prizes. The event was being coordinated by Tom Caragliano. All races took place, rain or shine."
