A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1881 the Medfield Library Trustees issued a plea that “the Library (then located in Town Hall) is and should be considered an educator. With the cooperation of the school committee, teachers, Librarian and the Trustees, the Library may do its highest work. The young in Medfield should be encouraged to read something, and helped at a time when their taste is forming to choose the best. We also strongly urge the use of the Library as a reading-room. No objection except that of expense can be alleged against the experiment.”
