A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1890, the Medfield Fire Engineers reported that “the fire department was well organized and were without doubt as good men as the department ever had. They are first class, ready and willing to respond to every call of duty. The firefighting apparatus are in good condition and ready for use, we have 1,800 feet of hose and we are pleased to report we have not had a single fire during the year. We recommend building two water reservoirs, one on Pleasant Street and one of North Street, in case of fires, as the town is in need of some such water supply on the above-named streets."
