Once the Vine Lake Preservation Trust new website is operational, you'll be able to identify by surname all the 500+ Medfield State Hospital deceased patients who are buried in the New Section.
Portions of a second database are already available using our free mobile app.

Entries are being made for persons buried in the years 1652 to 1875 in UNMARKED GRAVES. The bound volume was compiled by Jeremiah Ballou Hale in 1878 after the Town Hall burned in 1874.

To date, entries have been made for surnames Adams through Bowers.
These new names are a treasure for researchers who can now document the earliest Medfield deaths for whom cemetery burial records were never available.
