War-Hawks Take Home the COVID Cup!

The combined Medfield-Millis TVL Babe Ruth Majors team captured the Tri-Valley League Championship over their rival Medway.

The team finished the season with an impressive 9-3-1 record. Head Coach Dave DeCoste commented, “I couldn’t be any prouder of the performance displayed on the diamond this
season. The boys did a great job playing together as a cohesive team, and shined with poise, focus, leadership and execution.” Assistant Coaches were Jim Hatch and Bob Clarke.

The team beat Ashland 13-1 to advance to the Championship series against first place Medway.

In the best of 3 games series, the team won the first game against Medway 7-2 and the series clincher by a score of 9-7.

Game 1 (Medway Middle School):
7-2 Medfield win. Danny Good had a 2 run double in the top of the 7th to keep momentum on Medfield’s side

Game 2 (Schilling Field, Medfield):
9-7 Medfield win. Medway scored 3 in the top of the 7th to cut the lead to 2, but James Agostino was able to keep Medfield in the lead with his pitching and secure the win and sweep the Summer 2020Babe Ruth Tri-Valley League Championship Series.
