March 25, 2020 - Wednesday's MEDFIELD HISTORICAL MINUTE:
"In 1921 a Thanksgiving ice storm wrought havoc upon Medfield town trees and electric wires. It was called the worst ice storm ever witnessed in this town. Medfield was without electricity for over a week. Nearly all telephone poles were down, with many poles broken off by the weight of the ice on the wires. Schools were closed. Nearly all the town’s shade and fruit trees were ruined. All trolley service into Medfield was halted for two weeks and many streets were impassible due to branches and trees lying across them."
