Wheelock's Rocky Woods 3rd Grade Feast 2019

PHOTO GALLERY: Rocky Woods 3rd Grade Feast – A Medfield Tradition since 1978!

Wheelock School's Annual 3rd grade Rocky Woods Feast was held on October 28, 29 and 30 this year and even though the weather wasn't perfect it was extraordinary!

This unique and cooperative 3 day event is a great experience for students, teachers and parent volunteers and this year Wheelock School Principal, Holli Caulfield got to experience it herself for the first time.

The students learned many of the skills needed in the days of the Pilgrims, such as cooking, fishing, archery and learning to make a campfire to cook.

"Rocky Woods was an absolutely amazing experience for the kids and staff,' said Caulfield. "The coordination was unbelievable and this event will be one thing these students will always remember from elementary school. I would like to thank all of the parent volunteers, Wheelock staff, Girl Scouts and Scout parents who made this annual event possible and a special thank you to Rocky Woods Coordinator, Karen Vazquez who has worked tirelessly for the past 3 years to keep this tradition alive.

Vazquez would also like to thank the exceptional Wheelock team – Mrs. Caulfield, Mrs. Reddy, Mrs. DiGregorio, Mr. Stevens, Mrs. Murray, Ms. Hevey, Mrs.Watson, Miss Morrison, Mrs. Newton, Mrs. Callahan, Mr. Kuehl, Mrs. Lynn, Mrs. Sheehan, Miss Parker and Mrs. Cawley as well as all the master gardeners and the Medfield Girl Scouts.
