YES Votes For Plastic Bag Ban makes MEDFIELD 100th in Mass
The Vote for Article #21 at the Annual Town Meeting was overwhelmingly a YES vote and Medfield is the 100th town in Mass to have a bylaw.

YES VOTE to Ban Plastic Bags at Checkout...
The Medfield residents who attended the Annual Town Meeting on Monday night voted a resounding YES to ban plastic bags at checkout (Article #21) and a bylaw will go on the books.
Medfield is the 100th town/city in Massachusetts to vote in favor of a plastic bag ban bylaw!
After a brief slide presentation by Megan Sullivan, Transfer Station and Recycling Committee Chairperson and representing the Medfield Plastic Reduction Initiative, Moderator, Scott McDermott took a vote and it passed with many loud YES votes.

This bylaw will take effect on November 1, 2019, giving the retail stores and restaurants in Medfield 6 months to prepare. Customers are encouraged to bring reusable bags when they shop in any store, or when picking up take-out food. This practice will help the retailers and the environment.
