Candidate for Mayor, Mike Zwirko, will host his 2nd Public Q&A session at the Leading Edge community room at 536 Main Street (formerly known as the “ReMax” office) on Wednesday, August 14th from 7:00 - 8:30pm.

“With just under 6 weeks to go before voters head to the polls on September 17th, the one comment I hear from the residents is that there aren’t enough opportunities to learn about the candidates outside of social media. Given this, I have decided to host an open Q&A session for the public to attend and ask me questions about my ideas, my vision for Melrose and anything else that comes to mind,” stated Zwirko.

“This years election has the most active ballot we have seen in nearly two decades. We have five (5) candidates running for Mayor - a seat that has not been open in 18 years. We have open seats for Aldermen-at-Large and a couple of Wards as well. The election this fall is a generational election that does not occur often at the local level. It is imperative that, given the change that will ensue on our elected bodies, that we provide ample opportunities for discussion and discourse,” Zwirko said. “Transparency in Government is not a one-way street. As an elected official, we need to bring these opportunities to residents and allow for a free exchange of ideas on the issues. It must be incumbent upon our elected officials to allow for a give and take in discussion on issues important to everyone. I have always approached my role this way: Talk openly about the issues and collaborate with residents on the best ways forward. This open session Q&A seeks to do exactly that,” concluded Zwirko.
