He is also survived by grandchildren Aileen Kane and Bobby Kelly.
He was predeceased by a son, Bobby Fitzgerald, and siblings Eleanor Mahoney, Margie McGonagle, Thomas, George, and Edward Fitzgerald. He was the beloved husband of the late Grace (Mahoney) Fitzgerald.
The funeral will be held from the Frank H. Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St., Charlestown, Thursday at 9 a.m., with a funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury.
