Melrose Alderman Frank Wright Third To Not Seek Reelection
There are now guaranteed to be three new aldermen, and possibly at least double that.

MELROSE, MA — Ward 3 Alderman Frank Wright announced on Twitter Monday afternoon he will not be running for reelection, the latest shake-up to what will be a drastically new-looking Board next year.
"I’ve decided not to run for re-election this Fall," Wright said. "It’s been my privilege to represent Ward 3 and the City of Melrose these past 14 years. I appreciate everyone who has supported me. Thank you!"
That means there are guaranteed to be three new aldermen come next year, and possibly at least double that.

Only the Ward 1, 2, 4 and 5 aldermen have pulled papers to run again, and Robert Boisselle will face a challenger in Ward 4. Peter Mortimer is not running for reelection in Ward 6, though he left open the option of running at-large. Scott Forbes in Ward 7 will not seek reelection.
Three out of the four at-large aldermen - Manisha Bewtra, Monica Medeiros and Mike Zwirko - are running for mayor.
