Okay. This hasn't actually got anything to do with feet. I just wanted to get your attention. It started, innocently enough, to be called "The Information Age". In the old days, parents invested in their children's future by purchasing a set of encyclopedia at great cost. It was both voluminous and weighty and, of course, always potentially out of date. Before that, information was hard to come by or unavailable altogether. How times have changed! Now we GOOGLE!
I googled Jack Nicholson, wanting to find the name of a military movie he had made with Tom Cruise called "A Few Good Men". The big scene was Jack (Col. Nathan R.Jessep) being cross examined (and badgered) by Tom (Lieut. Daniel Kaffee)until he delivered his big fateful line, "TRUTH! You can't handle the truth". The implication being that our government protects us, not only from "the enemy" but from those horrors perpetrated in our defense and in our name.
Lately there is the additional problem of the government by us, for us, of us...wanting to know who is googling and what is being googled. Why anyone should have any such information, I don't know. Perhaps there is just soooo much of it or it is a sign that our personal privacy is circling the drain.
