Christmas was contingent on
A little bit of glitter,
A sniff of pine,
A tinkle of bells,
Perhaps some snow,
Warm cheeks,
A rosie glow.
A modicum of music,
Nip of nog,
Cozy slippers,
Smiles on faces of little nippers,
And then…
A tear,
For the memory
Of bygone years.
