Clear Channel Outdoor Donates Billboards for Fitzgerald Cancer Fund's Melrose Event
The billboards promote the annual "Dance for Saoirse" dance marathon fundraiser on March 22nd

Clear Channel Outdoor is committed to giving back to the communities in and around the Boston area through generous billboard donations and has come to learn how truly personal many of these causes are to those they are able to assist. Stephen Ross, President of Clear Channel Outdoor Boston, recently sat down with Kezia Fitzgerald, whose Fitzgerald Cancer Fund received several donated billboards from Clear Channel Outdoor for an upcoming fundraiser in Melrose.
Kezia Fitzgerald, of Danvers, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in January 2011. A few months later, in April of 2011, Kezia and her husband learned that their 11-month old daughter, Saoirse, had a malignant tumor called Neuroblastoma in her abdomen, which sadly and suddenly took Saoirse’s life in December of that year.
The family started the Fitzgerald Cancer Fund (FCF), a charity to raise money for Neuroblastoma patients and their families, for research trials and treatments that are less toxic, and to help raise awareness for the disease. Clear Channel Outdoor donated billboards for FCF’s major fundraising event, the 2nd annual “Dance for Saoirse”, a six-hour dance marathon that will be held on March 22nd from 12pm-6pm at Melrose Memorial Hall. This is the first year that the Fitzgerald Cancer Fund has used billboards and Clear Channel was happy to aid their fundraising efforts, placing digital billboards on Rt. 1 North in Peabody, Rt. 1 North in Malden, Rt. 1 South in Malden, I-93 in Medford, I-95/Rt. 128 in Wakefield, and I-495 in Lawrence.

“As a family, we wholeheartedly appreciate the kindness and generosity of Clear Channel Outdoor,” said Kezia. “Since the billboards went up, we’ve received more response than ever; our phones have been ringing a lot more, with people mentioning they saw the billboards while driving and want to help. It’s clear to see that they are inspiring people to want to learn more and to join us at the dance and connect to our cause; we couldn’t ask for anything more.”
Kezia hopes to raise upward of $30,000 at this year’s Dance for Saoirse. More information can be found at: www.fitzgeraldcancerfund.org.
