It was a day of drizzle and rain.
In the off quiet between the falling drops I sat in the car at Ell Pond.

It only took a few minutes before the music of the rain on the roof suggested that I better close the windows.
The drops on the puddles reminded me of someone pounding on a drum. Along with the symphony on the roof it led me to put my book down and look around.

There was a little breeze so the leaves moved slowly on the surrounding trees; but there, under one of the trees, was a red winged blackbird.
The rain stopped, the bird came closer to the top of the fence and flew away.
