Colors of Fall

Today I see the golden birch trees against a bright blue sky.

The vibrant colors across the lake spill over into the water creating a beautiful reflection;

while being protected by the tall green pines.

The sandy hill remains clear with its shadows and silence.

The early morning mist made way for the colors of the day.

The chickadees dash back and forth to the feeders,

and the blue jays glide down to get their share of seeds also.

Most of the other birds have flown south but an occasional goldfinch

and a few red squirrel remain adding color to the day.

The temperature is 50 degrees and it is a wonderful, exhilarating, bright fall day.
