So to give the men and women of the Melrose DPW an overdue pat on the back, a resident named Lindsay Wallin set up a GoFundMe campaign. The stated intention of her crowd-funding effort is to reward the Melrose DPW with gift certificates to various local businesses, should it be successful.

Only two days remain before the deadline on Feb. 6,, and the $1,145 collected as of Wednesday, Feb. 4 is a far cry from the $2,000 goal, so consider kicking in if you feel the DPW collectively deserves some props.
