A Different Kind of Pretty

Someone told me, a long time ago that the difference between a sunny day and a gray day was just “A different kind of pretty”. And she was right!

As I look out of my favorite window today I see a very grey, granite sky. The snow that is falling has covered the patches that were previously clear of snow.

The tall green trees across the lake are like an image in the mist, a mirage across a brilliant white frozen lake.

The birds fly hastily from the feeders to their hiding places; as the snow; snow showers occasionally, continue to fall; and it will snow all day I have been told.

The mysterious bare branches, web like, hang still for now; there is no breeze, no wind to blow the tall pines to a gentle rhythm, or the branches to an outburst of rage.

Today is a day to watch as the beauty of the day changes...

To a different kind of pretty.
