MELROSE, MA — Pine Banks is working on a new dog park that will let dogs roam around without a leash. Pine Banks detailed some of the plans on its website Thursday.
The park will be roughly an acre, divided between two sections. One section will be for smaller pups, and others for all dog breeds and sizes.
Pine Banks said it has been researching how useful and effective a dog park in the area may be. One reason for the push was that a lot of dog owners who may want to walk around and let the dog off the leash a bit can do so.

The park is in the "very early stages," Pine Banks said, and it's looking for volunteers to form a dog park support group. That group would help enforce rules and make sure everything is going along safely.
