Eastern Bank Branch Robbed By Man Who Passed Note
The robber made off with a still undetermined amount of cash, according to Melrose Police.

The branch at 27 Melrose St. was robbed on Wednesday, July 6 by a man who passed a note to a teller, according to Melrose Police.
Officers responded to the bank at 4 p.m. last Wednesday after the alarm company called to report a panic/hold-up alarm activiated at the branch.
Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau said that employees reported that a white man, approximately 5-7 to 5-8 feet tall, wearing a baseball cap, navy blue shirt and jeans has passed a note to the teller demanding money.

No weapon was shown during the robbery and the robber left with a still undetermined amount of money. Witnesses did not see in which direction or how the robber left the area.
Melrose Police are coordinating with the FBI Bank Robbery task force in the investigation, DeCroteau said.
