UPDATE: Eastern Bank Robbed For Second Time in Two Weeks
The branch at 27 Melrose St. was robbed on Saturday, July 16 and on Wednesday, July 6.

The branch at 27 Melrose St. was robbed for the second time in two weeks on Saturday.
The log entry states that at 11:54 a.m. on July 16, received a report that the bank was robbed by a tan white man in his 20s wearing a black t-shirt and black baseball cap. Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau said that robber was also described as wearing light colored shorts and sneakers.

The robber approached the teller window, stated that it was a robbery and told the teller to give them the money they had in the drawer, DeCroteau said.
He left with cash—DeCroteau declined to specify how much due to the ongoing investigation—and, contrary to a report listed in the log about a car, DeCroteau said the robber walked away from the bank towards Foodmaster.
