Ell Pond

By the time you read this there might be a bit of snow on the ground but...it is just a different kind of pretty.

The green grass around the pond, and the brown dirt paths are covered with leaves of rust.

Overhead most of the gold and reds have fallen, leaving open spaces between the bare branches of the surrounding trees.

The slate grey sky is calm, but showing no signs of white clouds or sunshine.

There are still trees with gold leaves that are turning pale, and reds that have become muted in color.

A soft breeze moves them about and drops another to the ground.

The water is still, the reflection of surrounding trees creates a backdrop for the single swan that passes by.

All is quiet at Ell Pond.
