The third Saturday each month we hold English Country Dances for the community in the Melrose UU Church—all dances taught, newcomers and sit-in musicians welcome, no partners necessary!
English Country dances brought from Europe by the settlers in the 17th century have been danced here ever since. Nickolas Kaynor (viola/violin) and Cammy Kaynor (violin/recorder) lead the band and Cammy teaches the dances with the aid of Lia Kaynor (assistant dancing master).
Sit-ins and newcomers welcomed.
Some contras, squares, and couples dances are also likely to be part of the mix.
