The much-anticipated event at Hunt’s Photo & Video, 100 Main Street, Melrose and stores in Boston, Cambridge, Hadley, and Hanover, MA, Manchester, NH, Providence, RI, and So. Topping the list of must-haves for 2011 are the sleek new Nikon 1 cameras being launched in New England at the Hunt’s Demo & Sale. These high-speed cameras have been designed “from the ground up,” according to Hunt’s General Manager Mike Mitchell, and will offer a whole new imaging experience.

Small enough to fit in the palm of a woman’s hand (including three lenses), the Nikon J1 and Nikon V1 provide high speed focusing, fast, continuous shooting, ease of use, compact lenses, and a unique Motion Snapshot mode which allows users to shoot video and still photos at the same time. When played back on the camera, the still images are preceded by a brief, slow-motion video (and music) that brings the subject to life. “I would say this is going to be great for social media and for sharing the moment with family and friends,” Mitchell advises. A free Introduction to the Nikon 1 will be held on Friday, November 4, from 2:15 – 3:00 pm in Melrose.
