Jason Lewis Retains Fifth Middlesex District Senate Seat

State Sen. Jason Lewis has held off Sam Hammar, according to reports.

State Sen. Jason Lewis has successfully held off Sam Hammar in the Fifth Middlesex District, according to MassINC Polling.

Lewis was re-elected to the seat for the second time. The Winchester resident is on several committees on Beacon Hill, chairing the Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development and the Joint Committee on Public Health. He's also the Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Marijuana.

Hammar was threatening to shake up the establishment by bringing what she said was fresh perspective to Beacon Hill. The Melrose resident has focused on housing, student loan, and child care costs for working families.
