Galentine’s Day Jewelry and Accessory Swap Returns on Feb. 10
Zero Waste Melrose and the Melrose Public Library are co-hosting the third annual Galentine's Day-themed swap of jewelry and accessories

Previously co-hosted with The Worklery, the free community reuse event will be held this year in the library’s community room, at 69 W. Emerson Street, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. New for 2026, there will also be a drop-off-only period from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Although ZWM originally created the event to celebrate its namesake holiday honoring friendships, especially among women, the swap is open to all genders. Attendance is recommended for ages 12+. Guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Attendees can bring only these categories of items:

- Jewelry and watches;
- Handbags, purses, hip packs, and slings;
- Gloves/mittens, hats, scarves, and ties (for all seasons);
- Wallets and belts;
- Sunglasses and reading glasses (non-prescription);
- Travel accessories like luggage tags and passport holders;
- Jewelry gift boxes and bags.
Please limit “gives” to clean, gently used items in good condition that fit in one shopping bag. The swap is limited to the listed categories. Items not listed will not be accepted.
Drop-off ends at 7:30. There’s no need to donate to participate!
ZWM, a volunteer group with a 25+ year history of reducing waste in Melrose, offers themed swap events throughout the year. Unswapped items are donated to charities and nonprofits.
