Kane's Donuts Opening On Route 1, Will Have Drive-Through

The second Saugus location will be where the old mini golf spot was. The orange dinosaur is said to have survived.

SAUGUS, MA — Commuters will be able to load up on Kane's Donuts without even getting out of there before the month is over. The legendary donut shop is opening its third location - and second Saugus location - on Route 1 South by Jan. 15, according to the Saugus Advertiser.

This 3,500-square-foot Kane's location, at 1565-1565 Broadway, will be where the old mini golf course was. The orange dinosaur is said to have survived at the new Essex Landing development.

The original Saugus location on Lincoln Street has been a North Shore must-stop since 1955. That location does not have a drive-thru.

Saugus has already seen a changing of the guard farther up Route 1, where the Hilltop cactus has been renovated, but is now run by AvalonBay. The 110 Grille opened just before Christmas.
