Lavender Bird Checks All The Boxes For Mayor: Letter

Jackie is one of those candidates who sneaks up on you. She’s unassuming, but then you realize she checks all the boxes with real intelligence and conviction. She’s got a plan for the small things (outside dining!) and the big ones (public safety). She’s honest about what we can do better, especially communication. And you can see that she will; she listens wholeheartedly and is always calm and articulate in response.

She’s the kind of person you want to be friends with, you want to be your boss, and you want to manage all the events/groups/initiatives you’re part of. She won’t just light the holiday tree, but she’ll make sure the fire truck is pulling out of a stable building, the holiday lights are shining on an occupied downtown, and all those logistical pieces are in place.

This Spring, during one of the busiest times of her professional life, she heard we were going to Italy. Although we’d never met, she took the time to give me all kinds of thoughtful suggestions. This is small town Melrose in all its glory.

And even though we are all suppose to be neutral about these things, I’m really happy to vote for a mom and woman that is definitely doing it all. And still wants to do more for all of us. Because you know, we get it done, and so will she.
