Letter: Medeiros Solano Will Bring Experience & Change

Monica Medeiros Solano is the Mayor that Melrose needs right now. Monica has dedicated her life to this city and brings experience from her time serving on the School Committee and City Council. If you voted in the September preliminary for a candidate of change, know that Monica will NOT be a continuation of the status quo or of the last four years.

Monica has been and will continue to work for smart spending, transparency from City Hall, and maintaining Melrose’s beauty. Your investment in Melrose is her priority, which is exactly what we need after the $5.18 million tax increase in 2019, the $2.2 million school district shortfall in 2022, the $2.7M+ structural deficit we currently face, and of course the upcoming “unknown dollar amount” debt exclusion ballot question. Faced with those fiscal realities, we need a Mayor that prioritizes smart spending. Monica will be the Mayor that makes sure your tax dollars are not misspent and that we do not pass on an unsustainable financial landscape to the next generation in Melrose.
