Local Christmas lights

by Shirley Rabb

The Melrose Senior Center got two buses out on the road on Wednesday evening for a ride around the town, and through Saugus to see the wonderful displays of holiday lights.

Four people wearing red hats helped to start the fun at the Center before we all boarded the bus.

There were ten people on board each of the two buses and the conversation was exciting and enjoyable.

Some of the displays were outstanding from ground to roof tops. There were some modest colorful sites along the way that created a more cozy appearance also.

There were oohs, and ayahs as we came around corners to see what awaited us.

The ride was a bit over an hour and it was a fun way to see how families brighten up the area making for a very festive start to the holiday season.

We at the Melrose Mirror and the Patch wish all our readers a very bright holiday and a New Year filled with lights.
