Mary Jo Brown Foundation Announces Contest for Children

Melrose/Wilmington MA --The Mary Jo Brown Foundation is happy to announce the contest for their 2015 Spreading Smiles Award and needs your help by nominating a child or young adult (under 18) who embodies the ideology of the foundation:  whose selfless act of kindness as benefitted others.  Last years winners, from Haverhill, Wakefield and Carver were rewarded for actions such as raising money to purchase toys for hospitalized children and standing up for a bullied classmate.  Please help us find these young heroes by nominating someone you know.    

Grand Prize Award is a trip to Disney World for 4 (value approximately $4500)  Deadline for submitting nominations is September 1st.  All nominations will be reviewed by board members and finalists will be invited to attend the Annual Fundraiser of the foundation;  an Indoor Luau to be held at the Saugus Elks Hall at 3P on Sunday, October 18, where the winner will be announced in front of supporters.

Founded in 2012, the Mary Jo Brown Foundation is a 501c 3 charity and honors Mary Jo’s memory in numerous ways.  Led by her daughter Christina Brown, the foundation tagline is “Spreading Smiles through Acts of Kindness”.  Board members and supporters live throughout Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.
