Melrose Fire Department Extinguishes Home Basement Blaze
The blaze broke out at a home on the south side of the city.
MELROSE, MA — No one was injured in the aftermath of a house fire that took place recently, according to the Melrose Fire Department.
Crews responded to the first-alarm blaze at 50 Park St. shortly after 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 26 to find heavy smoke emanating from the basement of the residence. The blaze was quickly extinguished with mutual aid assistance from the Wakefield Fire Department. Traffic was detoured and delayed on the steep hill while extinguishing efforts were underway. The cause of the fire is not currently known.
