Melrose Girl Battling Brain Tumor Celebrates HomeGoods Bag

It's more than just a bag: Sarah Podradchik's creation will be featured on something that will benefit the Jimmy Fund.

MELROSE, MA — A 13-year-old Melrose girl on Thursday showed off her artwork being featured on a HomeGoods reusable shopping bag. Sarah Podradchik, who has a rare brain tumor known as a germinoma, was in Allston to celebrate the limited edition bag.

The bag takes on special meaning because every time it is purchased for 99 cents, half of the proceeds will go to the Jimmy Fund. And the bags are being sold in HomeGoods stores across the country.

Podradchik, who has to undergo chemotherapy and radiation for her illness, loves to ski, swim, and snorkel.
