Melrose Girls Warm Hearts, People

A short item posted by the City of Melrose says a lot about the character of some terrific young Melrose students.

Mayor Robert Dolan said four young girls stopped by his office carrying some coats they have been collecting to donate to children in need.

Dolan said the girls, Anna Burtnett, Haley Weiss, Kate Hubbard, and Olivia Webb, became friends in the Roosevelt School have maintained their friendship into seventh grade.

"I am very touched that they were thinking about children like them who might not have a warm coat ths winter," Dolan wrote.
