Melrose Halloween Eggings Reported: Police Log

MELROSE, MA — The following were comprised of excerpts from last week's Melrose Police log. Arrests do not indicate convictions:

Monday, Oct. 29

5 p.m. - A 39-year-old Lynn man who police say didn't have a license crashed on Franklin at Woodland. The man was issued a summons.

Tuesday, Oct. 30

8:17 a.m. - A report of a shot fired overnight and a possible bullet casing found in the morning near Perkins Street.

10:43 a.m. - Police arrested a 46-year-old Melrose man on a warrant after reports of a woman screaming to leave her alone on Spear Street.

11:54 p.m. - A 17-year-old was arrested on domestic assault or assault and battery charges after police responded to a request for possible disturbance.

8:56 p.m. - Police placed a 63-year-old Melrose man from Angela Circle in protective custody after responding to a report of a drunk person.

Wednesday, Oct. 31

7:13 p.m. - Report of a group of men drinking beer and urinating in the bushes on West Emerson.

8:34 p.m. - Report of a house getting egged on Altamont. There have been several instances of eggs in the area.

Friday, Nov. 2

3:12 p.m. - Police issue a summons to a 48-year-old Melrose woman from Mount Vernon Street for charges of larceny under $1,200 after the manager of the Mobil station reports internal theft.

Saturday, Nov. 3

11 a.m. - A 34-year-old Methuen man was issued a summons on charges of larceny over $1,200 by false pretense after a victim reported being scammed by a contractor.

8:09 p.m. - Caller reports eggs being thrown at houses on Melrose Street.
